Felix Grech is a multi-disciplinary designer and artist who works instinctively with materials, letting process lead the way. Based in Sydney, he moves between furniture, object and set design, always with a hands-on approach. He completed an Industrial Design degree at the University of Technology Sydney, and his experience spans a range of disciplines— previously working as a shipwright, ceramicist and furniture designer.
Felix is drawn to materials that tell a story—whether that’s wood, metal, or stone—and explores both traditional and modern techniques, often working with offcuts, leftovers, and overlooked materials. His practice is about experimentation: pushing materials beyond their expected use, rethinking waste, and finding new ways to make things. By working directly with materials—cutting, bending, shaping—he allows the process to guide the outcome, resulting in pieces that challenge conventions of value, function, and craft.
